Off to Austin

Justin took this picture of the State Capitol on our trip to Austin for a UT open-house. He'll start classes there in a little more than a month. Some days, I'm in denial about it, but other days, reality slaps me in the face. I will miss him.

Dragons Exist

My son, Justin, and I drove out to Gunter to wander the country roads and take pictures of anything that caught the eye. Justin took this photograph of a serenely resting dragonfly. Be sure to click on it to see a real, live dragon up close!

Education is all about being creative. When you think about it, we're creating brand new people through what we do on a daily basis as educators.

I love to see what others have conjured up to make other educators' jobs easier, so please share! I will post my personal favorites as well and give credit to the original authors of ideas when possible.

Also, I absolutely love art and am exploring oil painting and playing with mixed computer media. My daughter is creating some things now with what's called a Bamboo Tablet, and I'd love to see art anyone else has created using technology media. I will post some MS Paint art she's done that I think is cute!
