Justin took this picture of the State Capitol on our trip to Austin for a UT open-house. He'll start classes there in a little more than a month. Some days, I'm in denial about it, but other days, reality slaps me in the face. I will miss him.

Yet another joy of motherhood! You're in a tough spot. See you next week.
ReplyDeleteSweet Dana!! I can't believe one of your little ones are leaving the nest. Take notes...I will need them in a few years...sending my oldest off to kinder 7 years ago made me a wreck:)...
ReplyDeleteI remember driving off to Austin from my home as my mom and brothers waved good-bye one hot Sunday in August. My dad had died when I was 15 and I always wondered what it would have been like for him to see his sons go off to college. I must say that if you must go away to school, Austin is a great choice. It is also a great place to learn discipline. If you can live in Austin and graduate from the University of Texas simultaneously, you can do anything. Your son will have a wonderful time - especially if he maintains that discipline.
ReplyDeleteIt really is hard sending off a child to college! I have lived through it though, and with time you will love seeing him through new eyes - as a college student living away from home. I am also a graduate of UT Austin. It is a great university!
ReplyDeleteYour son is a talented photographer. I can't say much about t.u. though... I'm a graduate of A&M. :)
